Cooking with Technology

Technology in cooking has really come a long way. From cooking over an open campfire, to gas cooktops, to smooth glass electric cooktops, and now to induction cooktops that detect whether the pot is on the cooking surface and only heat where that pot or pan is. The technology doesn’t end there, either. From microwaves that speed cook, toast, brown and bake, to ovens that walk you through step by step, almost teaching you how to cook. We really have come a long way.

A microwave that has not only microwave technology but also a convection element and halogen lighting sounds a bit like something from  “The Jetsons” doesn’t it? But, in fact, it’s not something that we’ll have to wait to see until the time we’re flying our cars around, it’s something we currently have in our showroom. It’s called the GE Advantium, and it is truly an amazing piece of technology that can help anyone become a better chef. With 175 pre-programmed recipes, it really makes cooking simple. Contact us if you’d like to be a part of a demonstration of this microwave on steroids.

Another incredible piece of technology is a wall oven that actually walks you through step by step to determine what you’re cooking, what kind of cookware you’re using and what doneness level you’d like to create the perfect meal. These features, combined with the most powerful convection elements on the market and a full seven-inch touchscreen, help create the Jenn-Air wall ovens with the Culinary Center.

It truly is exciting to see so many technological advancements in cooking and to think what is still yet to come is a little mind boggling at times. If you have any questions or want to see the increasing technology live, come visit us at either of our showrooms!
